globalFACT applauds the U.S. Senate’s ratification of the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, a global treaty to phase down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).

With this amendment, the U.S. aligns itself with more than 130 other nations to advance the global phase down of the use of HFCs. The amendment, paired with the implementation of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act, will increase American HVACR industry manufacturers’ access to additional international markets. The move is estimated to generate $38.8 billion in investment in the U.S. economy by 2027 and create 150,000 direct and indirect American jobs.

We commend the Senate for taking action to phase down these harmful greenhouse gasses. globalFACT upholds its commitment to the environment and global community by applauding the ratification of the Kigali Amendment.
