The recent UNEP Report makes clear: the impacts of manmade TFA is minimal.
TFA can be derived from man-made sources; however, UNEP research on the effects of HFC and HFO refrigerants confirms that its impact on both humans and the environment is minimal. The report reinforces other findings and adds to a deepening body of science regarding TFA.
It also underscores why TFA should not be grouped into the broad definition of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) that makes no distinction for products that have minimal impact.
