2. FETA Chair warns EU F-Gas reforms risk industry efficiency progress

FETA Chair Mark Hughes: “It is fair to say that currently, we have significant concerns that the EU may be focusing on legislation which, while reducing the GWP for refrigerants, does so at the expense of the much bigger prize of energy efficiency.” Read more

3. globalFACT comments on Green Guides review

It is critical for the Commission to incorporate in its revised Green Guides additional explanatory language or examples to prevent marketers of so-called “natural” refrigerants from misinforming the public. Read more.

4. While most EU sectors saw emission increases, HFC emissions decreased

The EU National Inventory Report (NIR) shows that total GHG emissions (including Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry, and international aviation) increased in 2021 by 6.2%. In contrast, HFC emissions decreased by 4.3%. Read more

5. Duluth convention center receives hefty fine for ammonia leak

An ammonia leak will cost the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC) $118,195… EPA Administrator Debra Shore said: “It is imperative for facilities storing hazardous materials such as anhydrous ammonia to follow the regulations designed to protect communities and the environment from potential risks.” Read more
