The theme for this year’s World Refrigeration Day is Cooling Matters

Steve Gill, former president of the Institute of Refrigeration, explains: “Cooling is at the very heart of modern life. It enables people to live and work comfortably, it saves lives, it enables people to achieve. The need for cooling is everywhere; it touches lives in fantastic, though often unnoticed ways. However we look at it, cooling matters to us.”

But cooling isn’t all that often goes unnoticed. This World Refrigeration Day, we thank and recognize the HVACR technicians working largely behind the scenes to make cooling and its many benefits possible in our lives.

Recently, I met with HVACR industry expert Marco Buoni to discuss technician training in the EU. Marco is the Technical Director of Centro Studi Galileo, a renowned HVACR training center in Italy, and leads more than 300 technician training courses each year.

I invite you to read the interview here, where we examine the important role of HVACR technician training and how the EU is preparing technicians to meet real-world challenges.

We are proud to join our cooling partners to celebrate World Refrigeration Day, support our HVACR colleagues, and promote the importance of technician training throughout our industry.
