Statement on 2020 World Refrigeration Day
Jordan A. Smith
Executive Director, globalFACT

World Refrigeration Day is lauded as a means to bring awareness to the importance of refrigeration technologies in everyday life and to raise the profile of the refrigeration, air-conditioning, ventilation, and heat-pump sector.  As we grapple with a pandemic that has impacted communities and economies across the globe, we focus on the vital importance of the cold chain to our health and wellbeing.

Today, more than ever, it is critical that the HVACR industry ensures reliable refrigeration solutions to allow our healthcare providers and systems to effectively access and manage medications for patients, and to safely produce, transport and store our food supply.

We also must recognize the important contributions of HVACR technicians and engineers who continue to work tirelessly through these trying times to ensure that refrigeration systems are maintained and kept fully operational.  Modern-day refrigeration would not be possible without the professionals that keep equipment functional in homes and essential businesses.

As we adapt to, and learn from, these historic challenges, globalFACT continues to strive to educate, increase awareness, and promote policies about the important role of advanced climate technologies in protecting the environment while meeting society’s needs.

We join together with our partners across the HVACR industry to acknowledge this year’s World Refrigeration Day and to strive for better days ahead.
